London Eye and South bank - London Sightseeing Tour

London Eye & South Bank

We now cross Westminster Bridge, offering some of the most photographed views in London. To your right flows the River Thames — London’s lifeline for nearly two millennia.

Dominating the skyline ahead is the London Eye, standing at 135 metres tall. Opened in 2000 to celebrate the new millennium, it was once the world’s tallest observation wheel. Each rotation takes around 30 minutes, offering panoramic views stretching as far as Windsor Castle on a clear day.

As we travel along the South Bank, you’ll notice a vibrant cultural atmosphere. Street performers, riverside cafés and theatres line this stretch. The South Bank is home to major arts venues including the Royal Festival Hall and National Theatre, making it one of London’s most creative districts.

From the comfort of the bus, you’ll enjoy uninterrupted views back across the river toward the Houses of Parliament and Westminster. The Thames itself has witnessed Roman invasions, medieval trade, Tudor executions and wartime resilience.

Today, it represents a dynamic blend of history and modern life. Glass buildings sit beside historic structures, and traditional riverboats pass sleek commuter ferries.

No stop is needed here — the elevated view from the coach provides one of the finest sightseeing perspectives in the city.
